PinIQ Support

Help with PinIQ on iPhone, iPad and Android.

PinIQ is a private pin-collection catalogue for iPhone, iPad and Android. No PinIQ account or password is required.

Common Questions

Why does iCloud Sync show Off on iPhone or iPad?

Confirm that the device is signed in to iCloud, iCloud Drive is enabled and the device has a network connection. PinIQ keeps working with local storage when iCloud is unavailable. Reopen the app after changing the Apple Account or iCloud settings.

Android does not use iCloud and does not provide automatic cloud sync. Its catalogue and photos stay on that Android device unless you create a complete backup or CSV export.

Why aren't my latest catalogue changes appearing on another Apple device?

Check the iCloud Sync status in PinIQ Settings on both devices. Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive enabled and an active network connection. The catalogue syncs between iPhone and iPad the same way it syncs between two iPhones.

PinIQ keeps your catalogue available locally while iCloud retries. Allow time for large photo updates to upload, then reopen PinIQ if the status does not refresh.

Why don't I see eBay price checks?

The current iOS and Android releases ship with eBay price checks switched off while Kagool Studios seeks the required permission. You can still record the price paid and your own estimated value manually. Recorded values are informational only, not professional valuations or insurance appraisals.

How do I add a photo?

Edit or add a pin, choose the front or back image slot, then use the camera or system photo picker. On iPhone and iPad, camera access can be changed in iOS Settings. On Android, PinIQ opens the system camera app or photo picker and receives only the image you take or select.

How do I export my catalogue?

Open PinIQ Settings and choose Export Catalogue (CSV). The CSV contains the catalogue's text fields, values and currency but no photos. Use the system share sheet to choose where it goes.

How do Android backups work?

In Android Settings, choose Create Complete Backup, then select a safe destination using Android's file picker. The .piniqbackup file contains the catalogue, photos and selected currency. Use Restore Complete Backup to validate and restore a backup; restoring replaces the catalogue currently on that device.

Android automatic cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. PinIQ cannot recover a lost catalogue, so create a fresh complete backup regularly and keep it somewhere safe. Complete backup and restore are not currently available in the iPhone and iPad app.

How do I delete data?

Delete individual pins inside PinIQ to remove their catalogue data and stored photos. Deleting a collection leaves its pins in PinIQ as unfiled; delete those pins separately if you also want them removed.

On iPhone and iPad, synced deletions are sent to your private iCloud catalogue. You can manage PinIQ's iCloud storage from your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings. On Android, clearing PinIQ's app storage or uninstalling it removes its local catalogue. CSV files and complete backups saved elsewhere must be deleted from their chosen destination separately.

PinIQ won't open or keeps closing

  1. Close PinIQ completely, then reopen it.
  2. Restart the device.
  3. Install the latest iOS or Android version available for the device.
  4. Check the App Store or Google Play for a PinIQ update.
  5. Make sure the device has enough free storage.

If PinIQ still opens on Android, create a fresh complete backup before clearing app storage or uninstalling. Those actions permanently remove the local Android catalogue, and automatic backup is disabled. On iPhone and iPad, do not assume every recent local change has reached iCloud. If the problem continues, contact us before clearing storage, deleting or reinstalling PinIQ.
