Some of you may have seen the fantastic £400 credit offer from Google AdWords. It says you have 60 days to claim the offer or spend it ( well so I thought ).
I originally signed up thinking the credit would be applied at the start. I was bitterly disappointed to find out it is applied AFTER SPENDING £400!
So do be careful, I obviously missed it when signing up. In the meantime, you will be charged for the spend, on the 1st of every month or when it reaches £200. I had to pay £178.03 so I could carry on with my ads, as they are automatically stopped if a payment fails! I won’t go as far as to say it’s a scam but I’m a bit gutted about it! I think Google needs to work on this, even after speaking to them they said there was nothing they could do. This would not be a great start for someone new to Google Adwords!
This could leave you stuck unable to reach the £400 limit and therefore not being able to claim the credit. I will update you on what happens and if the credit does ever gets applied.
Hope this helps some of you!
So after speaking to support staff in India, I was told there was nothing they could do. No gesture of goodwill etc. I managed to get my ads running again and ran the campaign until I hit the £400 limit! I then paused the ads, there was a delay and I went over by 4 pounds so then I hit the £200 auto billing limit and was charged again. The credit has still not been applied!
I will update you when this happens but I have to say this has been such a farce by Google AdWords!
